This is a 16'x20' two story in Knoxville. Notice the gentle slope of the yard, but it still needed several blocks to bring it to level. |

Being able to drive a truck into the backyard is the most convenient, but not necessary. Each piece can be carried one by one, but it adds several hours.

This is the second floor framing - 2x10's on 16" centers. Very strong construction. |

The rafters need a ridge pole - having help on this day made it many many times easier. |

The roof decking goes on next - it keeps the rafters from all coming down together. |

The end walls on the second floor go on as full sheets, then cut them to size after they're nailed on. |

A little trim here, a little trim there and it starts to look like a building! |

Finished at last! We added a ramp later - doing that made a two inch step at the door. |

The stairway does not usually include a railing on the inside, it becomes much more difficult to move large items if it's there... |

...although adding the inside railing is no trouble at all if requested. |
|
|
|
The railing is 2x4 construction - can be upgraded to 2x2 pickets closer together. |
